Superpowers in the spotlight

We have given up the need of guarding the borders that are the fundamental principle of any security policy.

It became obvious how weak we were and, in the end, we had to make the wildest promises to get out from under pressure.

The Paris attacks have shown that those who hate us were ruthless.

It turned out that we did not master the integration of people with different cultures from outside of Europe and we have no idea how to do it.

Here we are, in the spotlight, totally naked and frightened, and all we have for a fig leaf was a piece of paper – the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen from 1789.

Superpowers are watching us from the audience as men watch a strip show in a bar: some with a grin, some with lust, some with disgust.

We should find at least a bathrobe next year, but in the meantime we need to dance for the audience, to keep them entertained.
